Courtney's March Funnies

(stirring mashed potatoes)
Courtney- "These will be so delicious, just like fresh-baked no bake cookies!"

Courtney- "I'm hopping like a ribbit!"

(Jeremy driving)
Courtney- "Whoa! You're driving all crazy again!"

Courtney- "Mom, can you get my gummies out of my box, 'cause my fingers are just little and tiny!"

(helping me clean house)
Me- "Wow, this banister is dirty!"
Courtney- "You can say that again!"

Me- "Should we scrub the front door?"
Courtney- "Yah! We better hop to it!"

(4 am she was screaming and crying because she wanted a snack-- eating on her bedroom floor)
Me- "Cough-Cough"
Courtney- "Shh Mommy, you'll wake the neighbors!"

Me- (I bent over to pick something up)
Courtney- (kisses my behind)
Me- "Did you just kiss my butt?!"
Courtney- "I sure did, because i love you!"

Me- "Wow, those are some stinky poops!"
Courtney- "Yep, they're ooey gooey Polly Pocket poops!"

(Courtney giving Jeremy hugs)
Courtney- "I love you, Princess Daddy!"

(Courtney cranky, crying, booby, whining)
Me- "What's the matter?"
Courtney- "I just need another nap."

(Courtney watching t.v., jeremy and i talking)
Courtney- "Mommy, Daddy, stop talking. I'm trying to watch my cartoon!"

Jeremy- "Where in the crap are my shorts??"
Courtney- "Wherever in the crap you put them!"

(T.V. nickelodeon announcer saying "Come along and join us at WWW..." I turn off t.v.)
Courtney- "Dot Nick Junior Dot Com!"

Me- "Should we go sit on the potty?"
Courtney- "No."
Me- "What?!"
Courtney- "NO no NO!!"
Me- "What?!"
Jeremy- "I think she said no."
Courtney- "Daddy's so smart."

Poor Belley

Our poor cat sure does put up with a lot from Courtney. She just sits there and takes it. Here she is with Courtney's brand new big girl panties wrapped around her head and her shoes on her back. *sigh*

Play Date

Last week my friend Megan and I had a play date for Courtney and Isa. We went to the Menan City Park and had a pic nic and also played at Isa's house. The girls had lots of fun!

I love this swing! This is the very same swing that Jeremy and I had our first kiss, then later had our first "i love you", and then where Jeremy proposed... all while I was sitting on this swing with Jeremy knelt down in front of me under stars and moonlight...awwwww..... haha. And now here's our daughter sitting on the same swing. I wonder if the park would miss it if i just...up and took it....?

St. Patricks Day

For St. Patricks Day, Courtney helped me make zucchini bread muffin cupcakes with green frosting. They didn't look too terribly appetizing, but they tasted pretty good, we had fun making them, and they were green, so that's all that matters!

Rakin' up the garden with Daddy

Spring is here! Before it snowed we covered the garden in leaves to keep the flower bulbs nice and cozy for the winter. We've now got it all uncovered and have tons and tons of purple and white snow crocuses in full bloom, as well as tulips on the way and lots of other green things poppin up. (you can't see the flowers in these pics because i took them a week or so ago, and they have since sprouted!) oh... (and isn't Courtney's tiny toddler rake so cute?!)

Swimming!

For some reason, today Courtney stripped down to nothing, put on her swimming suit, and announced she was going swimming. She was so sure of herself and so excited, it would've broken my heart to tell her no! Since it's obviously way too cold to swim outside, this is the best I could do. She seemed happy enough!

6 YEARS!

Yesterday Jeremy and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary! My morning began at 4:00 am when Courtney decided to start screaming bloody murder because she NEEDED a chicken nugget and some juice right at that very moment. So we sat on her floor and had a little 4 am snack in the dark... during which I coughed and she scolded me, "Shh...you'll wake up the neighbors." yes, this coming from a 2 year old who was just minutes before screaming like it was the end of the world.

I was then allowed to go back to bed, and she even let me sleep in til 9! Later that day, Jeremy's mom, Dawn, was kind enough to take our little monster for a while so we could go out. I nearly felt a bit naked without toting a large purse filled with diapers, toys, and snacks, and a toddler on my hip. What a feeling! We were planning on going to Texas Road House for dinner, but being a Friday night, there wasn't even a spot to park in the parking lot... let alone get in and be seated before our movie started! So we headed to 5 GUYS burgers and fries, which was just as delicious and 1/3 the price! We had some time after we ate, so we went to the mall to wander around, and I got my engagement/wedding rings cleaned... so now they're super sparkly and gorgeous! Then we went on over to Edwards for a movie. It was great to be able to get out!

I was going to put some wedding pictures on here... but oddly enough, i don't have a single wedding picture on my entire computer! (They're all on my mom's computer).

So here's an engagement pic!

This picture makes me laugh. Jeremy looks so skinny and my hair was so long. He has since then beefed up 50 plus pounds, and as for me... well, my hair is a bit shorter, that's about it!

Happy 6 year anniversary, Jeremy, I love you!

Oh Dear

I don't have a picture for this, because she was as naked as could be, but here's a really good example why you should always pay attention to what your kids are doing!

Courtney had asked for cut up apples and a bowl of hershey's chocolate syrup to dip them in... a treat she usually enjoys. I set her up at her picnic table to have her snack and watch Dora, while I sat at the computer and tried to figure out Gimp... a type of photo shop that I can't for the life of me figure out! So here I am deep in thought when Jeremy comes down the stairs saying, "Mommy isn't paying attention!" I look over at my child, who is as naked as you can get, just smeared from head to toe in chocolate syrup. My happy-as-can-be little 2 year old, going to town with her body paint, smearing "beautiful pictures" on her belly with the biggest smile on her face.

Needless to say, it was straight to the tub for her! Which she also loves, and often comes up with excuses (purposely getting as dirty as possibly) to get into the tub. I'm sure this was one of her schemes. Makes me nervous as to what she's going to come up with the next time I turn my back for 2 seconds!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Work We Go

So the last week or so has been "Bring your wife and child to work" day for Jeremy. We've been helping him work in this house, and it's actually been a lot of fun getting to spend the entire day together, even if it is working! (and I come home so exhausted I can barely stand!) Courtney's been having a blast. She thinks it's fun to spread out a blanket each day at noon for a picnic in the bedroom area. She has a 'it's working time' song as well. Pretty darn cute! We fashioned her this beautiful painting dress to keep her clothes paint free. She would twirl in it and thought it was the greatest thing ever!

What a good little helper!!!

February Funnies

Courtney: "Hey Mom, do you want my bath toy?"
Me: "Nope, I don't."
Courtney: "Oh come on! You know you want it!"

Me: "Let's get off the counter."
Courtney: (reading my nutrition book) "No, I'm not frustrated yet!"

-- Repeatedly taking off her shirt and making body builder poses sayings, "CHUM CHUM" with each pose!

Me: "Courtney, please stop. I don't want chapstick smeared in my hair."
Courtney: "Of course you do, Mommy, of course you want chapstick smeared in your hair!"

(seeing my bra on the floor)
Courtney: "Mommy! I see your boobs on the floor!"

(walking past bra section in Kohls with Jeremy)
Courtney: "Wow Dad, look at all those boobs!"

-- I laid her down for bed and she cried for a while, then was finally quiet for a half hour or so. She started crying again, so I went in to give her kisses and tell her night night. To that she wailed, "Oh no, not again!"

Courtney: "Mom, are you writing down my funnies? Did you write down that you have boobs?"

(driving in truck)
Courtney: "Daddy, this is beautiful princess music. Can you turn it up so Mommy can hear it?"

(at work with Jeremy at a remodeling job)
Courtney: "I want to go home! This house is way too dirty!"

(rubbing at eye)
Me: "Do you have something in your eye?"
Courtney: "hmm..well, just my finger."

Cutie Cousins : )

We spent Super Bowl Sunday at Shane and Melina's house, and Courtney loved every minute of it. Her and Jazzy are like sisters when they get together (the kind of sisters that like each other!) Here's Courtney painting Jazzy's fingernails, and also brushing her hair. So stinkin cute!! It was also so cute when Jaz came up to me and asked if Courtney could wear her beautiful shirt...and here comes Courtney running out of Jazzy's room topless. She ended up in an entire Jazzy outfit by the end of the day!

Missing My Camera

I've been having a few problems with my camera, and since it's still under warranty I figured I'd better get it taken care of now while I can. So I said my farewell to it yesterday, and it's currently being shipped away to wherever where they will fix whatever's wrong with it. They said it should take between 2-6 weeks. BOO! So there will be no new pictures for about a month or so. Hopefully I get it back in 2 weeks, rather than 6 weeks!

So Grateful!

I can't even begin to tell you how EXCITED I am about this! Jeremy's mom, Dawn, saw that I was doing preschool with Courtney, and said she had some stuff from when she used to do daycare/preschool, and asked if I wanted any of it. I was expecting maybe a folder or two of worksheets, some songs ideas, coloring pages, etc. THIS is what i got!!!

That box of folders has EVERYTHING in it! All the holidays, seasons, months, shapes, colors, counting, math, reading, alphabet letters, seriously...everything. Worksheets and activities and crafts for every subject. Plus it has over 40 empty folders in the back which is PERFECT for the book up in the top left hand corner. This book has over 40 games.... You laminate the folders and the pieces and it all goes together so each folder is a game....

This is one of the games... you laminate the bodies onto the inside of the folder, then laminate the other pieces... heads, hats, etc and keep them seperate in a baggy... Then the child can mix and match to make different characters. This particular game takes 2 folders...for 16 different heads and bodies. And there's over 40 of these games, colors, seasons, counting, numbers, letters, sounds, rhyming, everything. This book is my main project right now, to get everything colored, cut, and laminated. Courtney is going to LOVE THIS!!!! It'll be great for sacrament meeting, too. nice quiet games to keep us both entertained ; ) ...(the whole book is like brand new since Dawn would make copies, then use the copies instead of pulling it out of the book)

Then there's the big fat craft books and art books, which is great. It has kid recipes as well, so Courtney can help me make her snacks : ) And there's thousands of stickers up there, too! Just everything imaginable that you could possibly want for preschool. All this stuff ranges from her Age 2 now up through elementary school. We are set : )

A MILLION thanks to Dawn, you are the greatest! We are so so appreciative and excited and grateful for our new preschool treasures.

PreSchool

I've been working on preschool stuff with Courtney for a while now, and it's always been that stuff is scattered through the house, stories are upstairs, painting stuff is in the kitchen, computer stuff downstairs, who knows where the crayons went, and what happened to the puzzles? So after reading my friend Andrea's blog (she does homeschooling with her kids and has an AMAZING blog http://allaboutentertainingkids.blogspot.com) I was inspired to get everything put together in ONE PLACE so we're not chasing around the house looking for stuff. The only plausible place for this was her play room, so I made it work. Introducing the Playroom/PreSchool Room!

I cleared out this cupboard that was storing old toys (which are now in the closet) and dedicated it to our preschool supplies. On the top shelf we have coloring/painting books and stickers, crayons, and a big tub of snacks (graham crackers, gummy fruit snacks, animal crackers, etc)
Next shelf down is art supplies: glitter, glitter glue, paints, paintbrushes, art pads, and play dough.
The shelf under is alphabet blocks and building blocks. The next shelf being all her "educational books" counting, colors, shapes, opposites, etc.
The last shelf is for her puzzles.

At the dollar store I found these two posters for the alphabet and for numbers and counting. The table and chairs is where we sit and do projects and such.

Katy got Courtney a Dora calendar, so I hung that up on the wall, and we do Days of The Week each morning and find what day it is.

And here's my happy little preschooler : )
For anyone looking for a GREAT preschool site, www.starfall.com is AWESOME! We start each morning of school learning the alphabet letters, writing a letter, and putting together a gingerbread man and a jackolantern. Courtney LOVES it and is learning so much from it, it's amazing.

My Little Artist

Who needs paper when you have nails that need done?

Think I could sell this in some gallery for thousands of dollars? : )

If you could sleep anywhere....

If you could sleep anywhere, where would it be? Courtney chooses the kitchen counter. : )

Courtney's January Funnies

(Talking to her Polly Pocket Doll)
"You're a pain in the butt, you little Bean Dip!"

(Licking the beater)
"Yummy! What's your special ingredient, Mommy?"

(Laying her head on my chest)
"Hey, you feel soft just like a pillow!"

(After she made a mess of all her toys)
"Mommy, it's kinda messy in here. You should clean up a little."

(I gave her some marshmallows)
"Gracias!"

(Crying in her crib)
"Mommy, I'm whining and boobing and crying. ...Babies like to cry, but I'm a big girl!"

(Looking out the window with Jeremy)
Courtney- "There's pinecones up in that tree!"
Jeremy- "yep."
Courtney- "Ruger hanged them up there with his teeth!"

(Telling me a story)
"There are skunks EVERYWHERE! We better hide behind a moo cow...Oh NO! The moo cow went away! The skunks live in their house just down the road. By the railroad. We better look out for the moo cow...we better sneak up behind the house...*GASP* Let's sneak up behind the horsie! I saw a horsie under the table with a moo cow (snapping piece of folded paper shut) I CAUGHT THE HORSIE!! Let's sneak up on a moo pig! (Waving crazy straw) Go away skunks! Don't bother me! I'm squooshing you!..... Hey Mom....whatchya writing?"

(Eating lunch at the table with me, examining my face)
"Something's not right here. Hmmm.... something's not right here. Your eyes are in the same place, and your nose is in the same place, and your lips are in the same place, but something's not right here...."

(Grabbing my nose)
"Got your nose!" ...then proceeds to pretend to swallow it, and burps.

(Telling Jeremy the same story over and over during dinner)
"....and Ruger knocked me over, and I fell in the snow, and got snow in my face....yah, and Ruger, he knocked me over! and I fell in the snow, and I got snow in my face...."
me- "Courtney, are you going to eat your dinner?"
Courtney- "No, I'm telling Daddy a story because he likes this story!"

(Sitting on my lap, looking at Craigslist)
me- "Hey, that's cute!"
Courtney- "Yah, that is cute. You could probably buy that pink kitchen for me for ten bucks!"

(playing in play room, Jeremy zipping his sweatshirt up and down fast)
Courtney- "Hey, you stop doing that."
Jeremy- "Why?"
Courtney- "Because I'm getting tired of it!"

Playing Catch Up

Play Date
This is Courtney's friend, Isa. Her mom, Megan and I have been best friends since we were in diapers. Now our little girls are best friends, and they look JUST like we did when we were their age! We had a play date this morning, and they had the best time playing together : )

Catching up on Christmas
These pictures are actually backwards since that's how I downloaded them, so we ended the day at Jeremy's mom's house.

The middle of the day was spent at my mom's house. This picture was too funny not to post (look at Doug's face!)

We joke that my parents' driveway looks like a used car lot when we all get together.

We woke up Christmas morning around 8:30 and opened presents in our living room. Courtney was super excited that Santa came!

On Christmas Eve, Courtney left Santa a note and some fudge, and we couldn't forget the reindeer, who were also hungry, so we left them carrots.

Shoveling Snow
Here's Courtney helping Daddy shovel the driveway. And I just barely now accidentally deleted the picture of the two of them shoveling together, and I don't know how to repost it without it going to the top of the post, so you'll just have to use your imagination. It was cute!

Painting Bathrooms
And here's Courtney helping Daddy paint the bathroom. What a good little helper!

Courtney's December Funnies

(Sitting on my lap)
Courtney- "I have to go poop."
Me- "How about we go poop in your potty?!"
Courtney- "How about I go poop on you!"

(After ripping the cover off my magazine)
Me- "Courtney, you ruined it!"
Courtney- "Don't worry, I'll fix it."
Me- "How are you going to fix it?"
Courtney- "Watch, I'll show you..... See? Good as new!" --handing me shredded magazine

(Being told repeated not to say 'stupid' on the car ride home)
"That's stupid"
"Don't say that word"
"That's stupid"
"Don't say that word"
--((pulling into the driveway, the garage door sticks about halfway up))
Jeremy- "stupid door!"
Courtney- "HEY! DON'T SAY THAT WORD! THAT DOOR IS NICE!!"

(Standing in hallway with popsicle)
Courtney- "Hey Mom, whatchya doin'?"
Me- "I'm just doing my hair, what are you doing?"
Courtney- "Oh, well, I'm just standin' here. Eatin a popsicle."

(Studying her coloring book)
Jeremy- "What are you doing?"
Courtney- "I'm trying to read my essay"

(After hearing me comment about the wire poking out of my bra)
Courtney-- (patting her chest) "Ow! My bra is poking me!"

(After given a candy cane)
Courtney- "A candy cane? For me? OH BOY!!"

Courtney- "Daddy, whatchya doin'?"
Jeremy- "I"m cleaning up my mess."
Courtney- "That's a good idea."

(While changing her diaper)
Me- "Holy cow, what did you eat?!"
Courtney- "Well, first I ate a cookie, then I ate a poopy!"

Me- "We need to trim your fingernails."
Courtney- "Yah, they're kinda funky!"

(Climbing up Jeremy)
Courtney- "I'm climbing up daddy! He's like a ladder!"

Jeremy- "What's Santa going to bring you?"
Courtney- "Dog poo and kitty food!!"

(in the middle of the closing prayer in sacrament meeting)
Courtney- "I HAVE FUNKY TOENAILS!!!!"

(sitting on couch babbling away)
Courtney- "You don't have any money. You have to get money from Daddy for anything you want to buy and if I want to buy something I ask Daddy for money and he gives it to me and I buy whatever I want to buy!"
