March Funnies

(Courtney watching t.v. I walk in)
Courtney- "I sure could use a blanket."
Me- "Do I look like your slave?"
Courtney- (dead serious) "....sort of."

(in car)
Courtney- "Daddy isn't cute."
Jeremy- "Well fine, I'm not going to buy you any birthday presents."
Courtney- "Oh, wait, wait! I love you!"

Jeremy- "I am so out of shape."
Courtney- "You're a shape, Daddy, you're a circle!"

Courtney- "I love you, Daddy."
Jeremy- "I love you, too!"
*silence*
Me- "Hey! What about me? What am I, chopped liver?"
Courtney- "No, Mommy, you're a boat!"

Jeremy- "How many fingers do you have on one hand?"
Courtney- "One, two, three, four, five."
Jeremy- "And how many do you have on the other hand?"
Courtney- "One, two, three, four, five."
Jeremy- "So how many is 5 and 5?"
Courtney- "I don't know, lots?"

(Jeremy getting after Courtney for some reason)
Courtney- (shaking fist) "Hey, you don't talk back to me!"

(Courtney being super loud)
Jeremy- "Courtney, be quiet."
Courtney- "I can't. I don't have a zipper on my lips!"

(Shouts coming from the bathroom)
Courtney- "Mom! I made a hot dog poop! A hot dog pickle poop!"

(in car)
Me- "Man, I really need to pee."
Courtney- (wiggling head with ghetto attitude) "Well maybe you should have gone before we left the house!"

(Anytime we say something Courtney doesn't quite hear, or she wasn't paying attention)
Courtney- "What? What? What'chu say, Willis?"

Courtney- "Daddy, you're a smokin' crack head."
Me- "Where did you learn those words?!"
Courtney- (giggling) "Nowhere!"

(in Broulims parking lot in truck, with a box of Donuts. Grandpa Larry walks up to truck)
Grandpa- "My that pink donut sure looks good. I sure would like to eat that pink donut!"
Courtney- (defending the only pink donut in the box that is clearly HERS) "Well... maybe you should go find your own pink donut!"

The Silliness that is Courtney

The other day at about 2 p.m. Courtney was still in her jammies. In my efforts to get her dressed (and because I knew we weren't going anywhere that day) I told her she could go pick out ANYTHING she wanted to wear, anything at all, and she could wear it. She normally picks out the ugliest things in her closet and I always make her go change, so this was a big deal to her that she got to choose today. And here's what she came out in:

I did say anything, so that's what she wore! Which, of course, meant swimming in tub while watching "Alice in Wonderland", which led to eating "Very Merry Un-Birthday Cake" after swimming. (Thank Goodness for the top layer of her birthday cake we froze a while ago, that saved me from having to bake another one!)

And she is now very concerned with her hair. Almost every day she requests curlers. This is her church hair, her grocery shopping hair, her playing outside hair, and her watching cartoons hair. It's really sad though, because after just a few hours, her hair has lost about 90% of the curl. Boo!

Nothing of Importance

This post is pretty much about absolutely nothing at all. I just haven't posted in a long time, and I really wanted that belly picture out of the way!

So what's going on here.... Let's see, Jeremy is going to physical therapy 3 times a week to work on his knee. He had an MRI done on his knee, and they can't explain anything, so they want to try 6 weeks of physical therapy before resorting to surgery.

We may be moving again in May/June. It's just a block and a half over in our neighborhood, but the house is MUUUCH much bigger. We're crammed as it is right now, and with the baby coming, we definitely need the extra room. I say we "may" be moving, because this house is in the process of being remodeled by Jeremy's brother-in-law, and they're on a budget...and the things we would need done or would be a deal breaker...may not be in their budget... it's all a huge budget issue, so they'll have to get together and figure some things out. But man, 1,000 extra square feet sure would be nice!

Apparently it's "spring"... even though it is currently snowing right now and is forecasted to snow for the rest of the week. We finally brought Courtney's swing set to our Rexburg house from our I.F. house, and she LOVES it! She made me push her for an hour this morning even though it's no where NEAR spring weather right now. But I'm feeling just as cooped up as she is, so we bundled up and spent the morning in the wind and wet.

I'm feeling more and more pregnant every day. (As in developing the pregnancy waddle, smacking my belly anytime I open a door, and eating around the clock.) They draw my blood 2 weeks from today...and only 3 weeks after that we find out what we're having!

I was flipping through my planner today and saw the blood drawing appt scheduled and started freaking out (of course), and Courtney came up to me and started stroking my face saying, "It's okay, Mommy, you're not at the doctor's right now, you're okay." She's such a sweetheart. I need to try harder to keep myself calm about it or I'm going to have her as screwed up about it as I am some day!

And it's now 9:30, and me being the wild woman that I am these days... I'm going to bed!

3 Months!!

3 MONTH BELLY PIC:

Here we are officially in the 2nd trimester now! 3 months down, and beginning month 4.

I'm keeping a pregnancy blog, kind of like a journal, for this pregnancy. With Courtney I think I have a total of like 3 pictures of me ever being pregnant, so I thought it'd be fun to journal this one along. The link for is on the side of this blog for anyone who wants to follow along and watch me go from (As Courtney puts it) gazelle to hippopotamus!

(And on a self-conscious note, don't worry...my face really isn't that fat..it's just because my head is turned to the side giving the illusion that I am a roly poly!)

Wonder of Wonders, a MIRACLE!

Today was our first Sunday in our new ward. Remember how Courtney never EVER even once let me leave her side all throughout nursery OR sunbeams in our last ward? Remember how in nursery she wouldn't even leave my lap? Remember the meltdowns that would occur if I tried to be sneaky and even just hide around the corner while still INSIDE the nursery room? I do.

That's why I thought our Rexburg ward would be worse being the very first Sunday, and none of us knowing anyone. We sat through Sacrament Meeting, and everything was fine. I asked her at one point, "Would you like some goldfish crackers?" to which she replied, "No, I just want to make new friends." Aww! She was so darn excited to meet her new friends in sunbeams, that's all she could talk about.

So we go into primary, and sit with her class. She has the best teachers ever! The woman is probably my age with a girl a year older than Courtney, a boy in Courtney's sunbeam class, and a new baby. Courtney LOVES her. The other teacher is this woman's father, who is such a goofball, and Courtney just loves him as well! She did AWESOME in singing time. She sang all the songs, jumped up when everyone else did, and totally played along in all the games and did all the song actions.

Then we went to Sunbeams Class. I asked Courtney if I could go get a drink and she said that would be alright. So I went out in the hall for probably 20 minutes before Courtney decided she wanted me back, (she just calmly asked if the teacher could go get me). So I stepped back in for probably 30 seconds and said I needed to go potty really really bad. She said I wasn't allowed to go potty, but that I could go get another drink. So I stepped outside and waited in the foyer... and I swear she didn't even realize I was gone. She stayed in sunbeams as happy as could be just playing with the other kids and getting along and listening to the teacher and being such a good little sunbeam the whole time! THE WHOLE TIME. I sat in that foyer for over an hour waiting for her to start crying for me, and nothing. NOTHING! When Jeremy and I went to pick her up after class, she had a big grin on her face and wanted to show up the fish she made and tell us all about sunbeams and her new friends.

Oh My Hallelujah. It's a miracle.

On the way out after church as everyone was leaving, the male teacher saw Courtney and said, "Hey Courtney!" She got a big grin and said hello, and he stuck his knuckles out for a fist bump. And. She. Did. Yep!! Who is this outgoing child and where did my shy little girl go?

I'm certainly not going to complain though!
