Courtney's December Funnies

(Sitting on my lap)
Courtney- "I have to go poop."
Me- "How about we go poop in your potty?!"
Courtney- "How about I go poop on you!"

(After ripping the cover off my magazine)
Me- "Courtney, you ruined it!"
Courtney- "Don't worry, I'll fix it."
Me- "How are you going to fix it?"
Courtney- "Watch, I'll show you..... See? Good as new!" --handing me shredded magazine

(Being told repeated not to say 'stupid' on the car ride home)
"That's stupid"
"Don't say that word"
"That's stupid"
"Don't say that word"
--((pulling into the driveway, the garage door sticks about halfway up))
Jeremy- "stupid door!"
Courtney- "HEY! DON'T SAY THAT WORD! THAT DOOR IS NICE!!"

(Standing in hallway with popsicle)
Courtney- "Hey Mom, whatchya doin'?"
Me- "I'm just doing my hair, what are you doing?"
Courtney- "Oh, well, I'm just standin' here. Eatin a popsicle."

(Studying her coloring book)
Jeremy- "What are you doing?"
Courtney- "I'm trying to read my essay"

(After hearing me comment about the wire poking out of my bra)
Courtney-- (patting her chest) "Ow! My bra is poking me!"

(After given a candy cane)
Courtney- "A candy cane? For me? OH BOY!!"

Courtney- "Daddy, whatchya doin'?"
Jeremy- "I"m cleaning up my mess."
Courtney- "That's a good idea."

(While changing her diaper)
Me- "Holy cow, what did you eat?!"
Courtney- "Well, first I ate a cookie, then I ate a poopy!"

Me- "We need to trim your fingernails."
Courtney- "Yah, they're kinda funky!"

(Climbing up Jeremy)
Courtney- "I'm climbing up daddy! He's like a ladder!"

Jeremy- "What's Santa going to bring you?"
Courtney- "Dog poo and kitty food!!"

(in the middle of the closing prayer in sacrament meeting)
Courtney- "I HAVE FUNKY TOENAILS!!!!"

(sitting on couch babbling away)
Courtney- "You don't have any money. You have to get money from Daddy for anything you want to buy and if I want to buy something I ask Daddy for money and he gives it to me and I buy whatever I want to buy!"

A Most Unfortunate Day

I think this has been the most unfortunate Christmas Eve day EVER! We started the day with my Grandma's funeral. Then we drove to the cemetery where our car decided to die. How appropriate, right? Puttered down the lane and died. So we stood out in the frigid snowy cold trying to get the car to start, when it finally started we made it about five feet and it died again. After much help from Devin, Shane, and my dad, and a few others, we got it going for about a mile. Then it died. Again. Shane had to go home and get his truck to tow us back to his house. ((Thanks a MILLION Shane!!)) So Shane and Jeremy worked on the car at his house for a while, then we came back to Idaho Falls and went to Jeremy's mom's house to pick up Courtney. I try to open the car door so we could finally go home, and lo and behold the car is locked. With the keys inside. Yep. Jeremy's brothers had gone christmas shopping and one of their cars blocked jeremy's mom's van, so Jeremy had to walk home in the FREEZING cold to get his truck. So he gets back to his mom's house, picks up Courtney, and while standing under the door frame, gives Courtney a bounce, to which she slams her head into the top of the door frame. We go home and I give Courtney a Christmas toy to play with, and she somehow managed to smack herself in the head with the hard piece. I'm almost afraid to go out tonight for our hansen traditional family dinner outing!

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we went down to Utah to stay with Jeremy's aunt and uncle. It was dark when we arrived, and the first thing Courtney noticed in the morning was that there was a "park" in their backyard! This is where she spent A LOT of her time on our trip!

On Thanksgiving Day, all the relatives came over, and Courtney met her new best friend, Hannah. They were glued to each other all day.

This was cute. Hannah was coming down the slide and Courtney said, "Wait wait...I'll catch you" and ran to the bottom to catch her. What a good friend : )

Courtney was afraid to climb up the ladder to go down the slide, so she'd climb up the slide and then slide down it.

Playing Ring Around the Rosy

Courtney would help Hannah up every time she fell down.

She would also help her back up on the stool.

Giving Grandma kisses.

On the way home we stopped at VF outlet mall and they had this adoption center set up at the end of the hall. Courtney was in heaven.

This is "Nana". I would have LOVED to have been able to bring her home, but I don't think Dawn would've appreciated sharing the backseat with her with 4 hours! She was quite slobbery.

We had a great Thanksgiving Holiday!! Many thanks to Patti and Von (Vaughn?) for being such generous hosts (this woman makes breakfast like IHOP!). We hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving and found many things to be grateful for.

Courtney's November Funnies

With Courtney's vocabulary growing so fast every day, and her coming up with the funniest sentences, I decided to start writing things down for her baby book. Here's November's:

(in bathtub, me trying to wash her hair) "Hey, be nice! Don't touch anything!!"

(in a frantic search) "Have you seen my puppy anywhere?"

(first time on froggy potty) jumped up and screamed, "I did it! I peed in my froggy potty!!"

(whenever I'm doing anything) "Hey...whatchya doin'?" "Hey....whatchya eatin?" "Hey....whatchya makin?"

(her walking in on Jeremy and I kissing in bedroom) *hands on hips* "HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON IN HERE?!!"

(when asked where her socks went) "I take my socks off 'cause i have stinky toes."

(climbing up the piano bench) "Here mom, i'll play you a pretty song."

(crying in crib at night) "Mom, I scared, I hungry..."
me: "Okay, i'll get you a cheese stick and some juice....
(walking down the hall i hear) "Heheh, I'm a stinker butt!"

Me: "They already have their Christmas tree up!"
Courtney: "That's crazy! How'd that happen?!"

Courtney: "Mom, I'm hungry:
Me: "What would you like to eat?"
Courtney: "I want Belley" (our cat)
Me: "You want to eat Belley for lunch?"
Courtney: ((shocked look on face)) "No! That would be SILLY!"

(waiting for me to turn on finding nemo) "Mommy, get up here RIGHT NOW! I watch my show!"

(putting the lid on my water bottle) "don't spill, mom, okay? Don't Spill!"

Christmas Music

Yes, I'm aware that Christmastime is still 2 weeks away, and I have never in my life felt the need to listen to Christmas music til Dec. 1, but for some reason this year I just can't wait! And with the snow we have today, I am just in the Christmas mood, so I have officially posted my christmas music list! My absolute favorite song ever for Christmas is #9 on my playlist, "Mary, Did You Know?" by Clay Aiken. You should find it, and listen. It's beautiful.

So Proud of my BIG GIRL!!!

Since Courtney feels like she's going to "fall in" when she sits on her princess seat on top the regular toilet, I bought her this froggy potty, which she LOVES!! Her very first time on it, she peed! She was soooo excited, she jumped up and screamed "I DID IT!!!" it was so stinkin' cute!
Good job, Big Girl, we love you!!

My Dirty Pirate

For Halloween Courtney was my little "Dirty Pirate" as she calls it, because she wouldn't let me wash her face. She was as happy as could be before we went trick-or-treating. She had been practicing her 'trick or treat' and 'thank you!' for a week, and had it down perfect.

Knocking at the door.....
Hiding her face behind her hat, refusing to look at anyone....
And running away.
She pretty much screamed and cried and refused to look at anyone ALL NIGHT! We made it to about 5 houses before she demanded we take her home. Maybe next year. But she sure was one cute little pirate!

Carving Pumpkins!

This was Courtney's first year to do Jack-O-Lanterns. She loved playing with the tools and the pumpkin, but refused to touch the insides. She calls them Ucky Pumpkin Guts = )

The one on the right is mine. My first EVER that didn't consist of 3 triangles and a lopsided mouth, so I'm pretty pleased with myself! Jeremy is a bit more artistic. His is on the left. Obviously.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!
