Keeping Busy

In order to keep Courtney occupied and not focused on, "Ow, my mouth hurts!" (from sugery last week) I've been keeping her very busy.

This includes fashioning a pony castle out of a card board box:
(Notice how worried Alex looks? He can sense the mess that is about to ensue.)

Playing "Dress-Up Tiger":

And baking treats with friends:
(Yes, that's my daughter eating raw brownie dough.  I'm taking her mind off dental pain only to wind her up at the E.R. with salmonella)

And let's not forget our little Bubba, who is happy as a clam with his chocolate frosted graham cracker. Life is always good when you have a chocolate frosted graham cracker :)

Courtney's Dental Surgery

Last Wednesday Courtney went in for some dental sugery... lots of it.  4 crowns and several fillings to be exact. And she. was. HYSTERIC.  Balistic even. Screaming bloody murder til she turned purple.  (She gets her love of doctors from her mother.) After about 20 minutes of this, they brought in "Happy Purple Juice" as I call it.

Ah, Happy Purple Juice.  How I love you.  How I wish you came in bulk at the grocery store, I would buy you up in a second!

She went from a murderous little purple and red blotchy monster to not a care in the world.  She even embraced the little stuffed pig they gave her instead of trying to rip it's head off.

And here's Alex, looking like he'd been sucking on the left overs of the purple juice cup.  Duuuhh....

After she was 90% knocked out from the purple juice, they rolled her away, gave her the gas (does that not sound like an animal shelter where they put animals down?), and then popped in the IV and went to town.  An hour later we went back to see her and take her home.  She was not happy.  At all.  She cried and screeched and hollered and screamed the entire way home.  50 minutes.

Oh purple juice, where are you when I need you?

It's been a week of recovery and so far all she complains about is sore gums when brushing where the crowns are.

SO happy that's all over and done with!

Easter

We had a pretty good Easter this year.  On Saturday we went to Brigham's baptism and then back to their house for a huge Easter Egg Hunt.  We had gotten together earlier to put everything together, all that was left to do was hide them.  It turned out GREAT!!

Oma and Alex.  Oma was so kind to haul this little chubber around so I could do pictures.  He didn't mind in the least, as long as SOMEBODY is holding him, he's all smiles.

We had completely forgotten to bring Courtney's Easter basket in the hustle and craziness of getting us all out the door on time in Sunday dress, so after the baptism we stopped at Michaels where Easter baskets were 50% off.  Awesome :)  She picked out a pretty darn cute one, if I do say so myself.

 The hunt is on.

Sorting through the goods.  Look at that happy little face!

And look at THIS happy little face!  He sure is happy about not getting anything at all :)

Well, he did get a "My 1st Easter" Onesie that he'll never get to wear again. Ha!

(As soon as we came in, every picture I took put that red line through it. GAH! I hope it doesn't last.)

The next day, Sunday, the Easter Bunny came to our house and more than made up for leaving him out of the hunt the previous day.  Courtney and Alex were showered upon with Hello Kitty, paints, stuffed animals, coloring books, goodies, etc.  The Easter Bunny must've found the $1 clearance section at WalMart because he went all out this year!

We hope you all had a good one, as well!
