Test Night

Last night was our martial arts test. I am super super excited to say that I am now a yellow belt! It took 10 months to get here, so i'm pretty darn excited. Jeremy also passed his test and lost a stripe off his belt. When you're a brown belt you have three black stripes on the end. After each test you pass, you lose a stripe til all 3 are gone, then you're a blackbelt. It takes about 5 years to get your blackbelt, and Jeremy is SO close! Class starts at 8:00 pm and the test ended at 10:30 pm. It was quite the workout testing on EVERY move you have ever learned. Especially for Jeremy since he's learned so so much. He had sweat dripping off the end of his nose.
Anyway, We got Courtney this black belt bear from the build-a-bear place in idaho falls. She's pretty cute with it, when Jeremy and I practice, she always jumps in and starts kicking and punching saying "hiya!" Our little ninja.

An Unfortunate Outcome/ Bunbob

So last summer Jeremy did a bunch of work for this guy who owns a construction company. I sent this guy the bill probably 7 or so months ago and we never recieved payment. So Jeremy called him...several times. No answer, then all of a sudden, no recipient! Every number he had for this guy was disconnected. Now keep in mind that this payment he owes Jeremy will more than cover the remainder of what we owe the hospital on Courtney, plus some montly payments (utilities, phone, etc). So we can't get a hold of this guy, then we come to find out....yah, he's in jail. Why? For not paying people. And apparently this morning he made the front page news. He and his wife are both in jail for FRAUD and BAD CHECKS~ writing more than $650,000 in bad checks. This guy faces up to 59 years in prison. Good, I hope he gets it. In this time of desperate need where paychecks are far and few inbetween and bills just keep coming, I was really counting on this check that will now never come ; (

All BunBobbed Out
Every morning when I go in Courtney's room to get her out of her crib i say, "Good Morning" and she says, "Tweet Bunbob!" meaning she wants her treat (a breakfast bar or oatmeal square) and wants to watch Sponge Bob. Now this was okay for a week or two, but it's EVERY morning and EVERY afternoon and when I close my eyes at night, i see spongebob. the song is ALWAYS stuck in my head, causing me to lose sleep at night, and I now am beginning to see sponge bob characters everywhere. I was in the tub the other night and the water a little too hot causing my skin to turn red... I thought to myself..."I look like Patrick" ... for those of you who aren't forced to watch spongebob 24/7, Patrick is an overweight stupid red starfish. That was depressing enough in its own that i got out of the tub. So laying in bed last night with the sponge bob song in my head, of course, I looked up at the ceiling fan, which had somehow turned into Squidward. A squid. Fabulous. It's now invading my bedroom. I think it's affecting Courtney as well, because last night I set a plate of ravioli in front of her for dinner, and she looked at it carefully for a moment, then looked up at me and asked, "Bunbob??" It was pretty funny because the square ravioli do look quite a bit like spongebob...minus his stupid rectangle pants, which aren't square, so i don't know where they came up with his 'squarepants' name.
Anyhow, So this is just a heads up for those of you who see me and talk to me and wonder why my mentality had diminished to that of a 2 year old, it's because i've been sponge bob brainwashed.

My Teenage Baby

Wow...give this girl an mp3 player and some headphones and she's set for the next 20 minutes. I didn't even show her how to work it and she was already skipping songs and keeping it on songs she liked.

Here's my $5 D.I. Find! I was pretty excited. This picnic table was brand new, still wrapped in the plastic wrap, never even assembled. And I got it new for $5! It's great for picnics out in the yard, and handy for coloring inside.

Funny

So I have to share a quick little story with you. The other day our friend Jason was over with his two little kids. Courtney, Aaron, and Nikayla were all upstairs playing, when Jason's kids started screaming. Apparently they were biting, hitting, and whatnot to each other, so Jason yelled for them to come downstairs and put their noses on the wall. So here's Aaron and Nikayla with their noses on my wall, and Courtney is wandering aimlessly upstairs wondering where her playmates went. When she finally realized they had come downstairs, she made her way down the stairs as well. She found them with their noses on the wall, she looked at Aaron, looked at Nikayla, looked at me, then looked at Jeremy, then joined them on the wall! So here's my little 1 1/2 year old with her nose on the wall inbetween the two other kids. They weren't happy at all, but Courtney was just laughing and laughing with the biggest grin. She was loving their new 'game'. Even when the other two were excused to go play upstairs again, Courtney remained with her nose on the wall. My odd little child.

Tautphus Park

Melina and I took our kids to Tautphus Park yesterday and Courtney found the best (and dirtiest) swing in the world. She sat in this swing for probably 1/2 hour, and kicked, screamed, and cried when it was time to go. It was pretty nasty, i wanted to wipe it down with sanitizer wipes, but she sure loved it!

A 22 Picture Update

My Little Yoga Baby. I picked up yoga about a month ago and every morning Courtney and I go downstairs and do our yoga before breakfast. Yep, i said 'our'.

Spring is here!! We've been out in the flower beds in our front yard for the past few days cleaning out clutter (grass/weeds) and looking for new flowers. We actually have a ton of purple and white snow crocuses that have already bloomed.... i LOVE spring!

tulips

daffodils

Courtney also has spring fever. We can't go in the flowerbeds without taking a quick walk down the street to the park. Her new favorite thing ever now is the slide.

Daddy and Courtney going for a walk.

Look who's figured out how to climb (and dance) on the coffee table.

We have finally hit the stage where I can put on a Disney movie and have about 30 minutes of quiet. Hallelujah!

Here's Courtney and Jakey. I never realized my baby wasn't a baby until i saw her next to an actual baby! Where did the time go??
I love how Jake is looking at Courtney in this picture, isn't that the cutest little boy ever?!

So the other night I come upstairs and see Courtney hiding in the corner. Why?....

This is why. We have a little artist on our hands...and on our walls, closet doors, bathroom floor, the scale, kitchen chairs....

My little helper.

Well....that pretty much sums up the results on my camera for the past week or so. ; )

The Sweetest Thing

It totally makes my heart melt when I realize what a sweet little girl I have. Yesterday Jeremy was helping a family move and he threw his back out and has been in quite a bit of pain. This morning he was laying in bed and couldn't move, and Courtney wanted him to pull her up into bed with him to cuddle. He told her he couldn't and we explained to her that he had an owwy. She then hopped down from the bed (I had lifted her up) and proceeded into her room at a pace to prove she was on a mission. She brought him her favorite blanket and we thought, "how sweet", then she ran back to her room to bring him another blanket, then another, and another, and another. After several trips from her room to ours she ran out of blankets to bring to Jeremy. So then she brought him every book off her bookshelf. When those ran out she brought him stuffed animals. She was finally satisfied that she had done her job to help make Daddy feel better when she could see him buried in all her favorite things. What a sweetheart.

On a side note, she has long since mastered the word "no" and has moved on to "mine" and "I do it", which usually ends with toothpaste everywhere. It amazes me how fast this little girl is growing up! It kills me to think she'll be old enough for nursery next month. *sigh*

Out For a Big Girl Walk

It was SO nice outside, I couldn't resist going for a walk. This is Courtney's first walk without being in her stroller. She loves to run around Wal-Mart, so I knew she'd love to walk outside. And she did ; ) She cried and cried when it was time to go back inside. It was sad, so we headed back outside until the clouds came out. She's definately an outdoorsy girl!
