For Only $10 : )

Wal Mart is having a sale on their fabric bolts...a bolt for $5. So I picked up a black bolt, and a pink bolt, and here's what I came up with!

I made a black valance for the kitchen window

And a matching valance to go over the sliding doors

And also a table runner

Then i took the the pink satin fabric and made Courtney's bedding. The polka dots on her blanket are stuffed with batting so they're poofy : )

I'm pretty proud of this pillow, it only took about 1/2 hour to make... where as the blanket took like 3 days since I had no idea what i was doing, how to do it, and just made it up as i went!

And this picture is just cute! Courtney put tiaras on her bear and penguin because it was a 'princess tea party' : )

Blue Angels

This past weekend we went to see the Blue Angels show. They are A-MAZ-ING!! Tickets were $20 a piece, so what do we do? What all SMART people do, go find a free seat at Freeman Park and see the exact same show for free!

Court's July Funnies

Courtney- "I want green beans, but I don't want them hot. I want them cold and nasty." (then she ate an entire can of cold nasty green beans!)

Courtney- "Daddy, what did you eat that made you so big?!"

Courtney- " Wow! I had a big yawn in my mouth!"

(Courtney waiting outside bathroom door for me. I come out.)
Courtney- "Good Job, Mommy! I'm so proud of you!"

(Jeremy, Courtney, and I gardening. I squeal at a disgusting Daddy Long Leg spider)
Courtney- "Mommy, you don't like Daddy Long Legs?"
Me- "No, they're yucky!"
Courtney- "Oh... do you like Mommy Long Legs?"

(Me opening Courtney's curtains to wake her up in the morning)
Courtney- "AAH!! TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!!!"

(Courtney frustrated, yelling at a puzzle piece that wasn't fitting, tries jamming it in over and over, finally realizes where it goes)
Courtney- "Oh...haha, I was just kidding."
Me- (laughing!)
Courtney- "Hey! Don't laugh about it!"

(Courtney making grumpy face.... me copying her)
Courtney- "Hey, don't be making a mad face!"
Me- "Why not?"
Courtney- "Because I want to be mad all by myself!"

(Jeremy waiting for Courtney to climb out of her car seat)
Jeremy- "Today, Slowpoke!"
Courtney- "No, in 14 days, silly!"

(Courtney eating purple nerds)
Me- "What are you eating?"
Courtney- "Purple Nurple Moose Poops."

Me- "Why don't you read Blackie a story?"
Courtney- "Mom, you know I don't know how to read!"

Courtney- "Once upon a time there was Blackie who went for a walk and saw a BEE-UUUUTIFUL butterfly, it was so pretty and Blackie followed it and caught it and put it in the fridge to eat for later!"

(Me trying to dress her)
Courtney- "STAY BACK! I'm warning you!"

(Me giving the 1...2...3 warning)
Me- "One...."
Courtney- (Shaking whole arm and finger at me) "And if you say TWO and if you say THREE then i will SMACK YOUR BUM!!"

(during a thunderstorm, Ruger pawing at the door trying to get in)
Courtney
- "Stop jumping on the door, Ruger. Go in your house, you little baby!"

Gone Fishin'

Saturday afternoon we packed up and headed for Blackfoot Reservoir to do some fishin'. Courtney was super excited to get her very own princess tackle box and fishing pole!

Courtney literally sat there for at least an hour staring at the water and reeling her pole in over and over and over! Even I don't have the patience for that! She's such a good little fisherkid!

If you ask Courtney what she caught, she'll tell you, "I caught mossy fish, but we didn't cook them for dinner because that would be yucky."

We then walked around part of the reservoir and did some exploring. This was a pretty darn cool tree.

Courtney discovered some amazing feathers.

After fishing, we hiked up to Forty Horse Cave (which dang near KILLED us!). I didn't take my camera because i can guarantee it would've come back in pieces. That was the rockiest steepest hike ever. I crawled up most of it on all fours, and slid back down most of it. Having Jeremy carry Courtney up and down that about gave me a heart attack.

At the bottom of Forty Horse Cave was a stream, with these silly little creatures stuck to all the rocks. They're some sort of sluggish bug that faces towards the current so they can feed on what's going past them. They have little black bodies that can come at least partly out of their outer shell. Very odd!

There was a couple with their 3 little kids playing in the stream when we got down. And strangely enough (for those of you who know Courtney and how she hates strangers) she just up and made best friends with one of the little girls!

It was quite an adventurous day with lots of stopping on the sides of dirt roads to break out the Froggy Potty so Courtney could 'get her peeps out'. : )

Huckleberry Checking

It's not quite time to go Huckleberry picking, but we decided to go up to our spot and see how they were coming along. Quite nicely : ) It was a nice afternoon to be up in the hills and hike a little bit.

My Silly Goose

Courtney was so funny this morning. I had just changed into my workout clothes, grabbed my ipod and water bottle, and was on my way to work out, when Courtney informed me that my morning consisted of a different plan. While I was getting ready to work out, she had been getting ready for her photo shoot. She picked out her pretty dress, wanted her hair done pretty with flowers, found my camera, and told me I needed to take her picture outside this morning.

She would say, "How about I stand right here?" "How about I hold this flower like this?" "How about I sit over here?" "Maybe I should twirl like I'm dancing and you can take my picture!"

Enjoy Courtney's "Photo Shoot" : )
