He wanted to tie bright orange hunter's flagging tape around his left leg just to make sure they did the right knee... but they marked it with a sharpie and got initials. I guess that works as well. Not as fun, but just as effective.
Pre-surgery pics stopped here, because this is when I got put in a hospital bed myself. True story. The nurse came in to do Jeremy's IV, which is my cue to get the heck out of there before I puke, but just standing out in the hall, with the bright hospital lights, my pregnant-ness, and hearing them talk about blood flow and veins and needles and such... I was 2 seconds from hitting the floor. Thankfully a nurse was in the hall and caught me and got me to a bed. She said I was white as could be and my eyes were in the back of my head. I felt like such a loser.Anyway, back to Jeremy. They wheeled him away for about 2-ish hours, and he came back looking like this. I thought he was asleep, and since I was trying to not be obnoxious with pictures I thought this would be a good time to sneak one in. As soon as the camera was about to go off, out came his 'thumbs up'. He was more alert than he looks!

He was so darn sweet afterwards, holding my hand the whole time, asking me how I was feeling, asking if I had gotten enough to eat (after I ate half his lunch!) and just being so concerned about how I was doing. Aww :) You would think I was the one who just underwent surgery.
Another thing that doesn't fit Jeremy. Walkers for normal size people. No worries, even all drugged up, he figured out how to make it taller :) ... in the bathroom of all places.

If you've noticed that there is a very small short little person missing from these pictures, you're absolutely right. Courtney was so lucky to get to have a slumber party with Jazzy at Oma's! (She would NOT have done well in a little recovery room for 9 hours!)
From what I hear, those two little girls kept Oma on her feet. Running around til 10:30 pm and giggling and chatting bright and early at 6:30. Thank You Oma!! This is Courtney about 3 minutes after we left Oma's house. Zonked out dead for the entire car ride home.

I remember almost passing out when we took dad in to the hospital with his foot on backwards! And I was't even pregnant!
But have to say, Courtney probably would have done better than you in the recovery room for 9 hours.
Hopefully thigs will get back to normal very soon!
I'm glad surgery went well. How nice of your mom to take Courtney for you guys!! Good luck in the recovery process!!
I'm glad you both made it through the whole process. Hope recovery goes better than expected. I had to laugh at Courtney's zonked out picture. About time that little firecracker dozed off! ;)
Moving, school, baby, surgery. Life sure has thrown a lot at you lately. Good luck with all you have to do, because (not to sound pessimistic) you are going to need it.
That's a cute picture of Courtney holding her sucker even in sleep :)
Blah! I think I would have passed out too. Just seeing the "drawing" on his leg made me want to barf. (because we all know what that line means.......CUT!)
Glad it went okay and I hope he heals quickly.
P.S. You make me laugh. :)
WOW. Sounds like it is going to be a long recovery. Jeremy is so lucky to have YOU :) If you need anything, give me a buzz. I can whip up some cookies or dinner... or BOTH and drive them on up to you :) It can be exhausting waiting hand and foot on a hubby while pregnant and chasing Courtney- don't hesitate to call me!!
