I am thankful that we have a place to call our own, our haven from the outside world.
Now if only we could get through the craziness of being up in the air if we're staying or moving! I'm not quite as thankful for the unknown : )

Your house kind of reminds me of your parents. At least the shape of it. I still think you should move to the frigid north.
our houses are quite similar, when we first moved in it drove me NUTS because the banister going up the stairs is on the opposite side as my mom's...(i fell up the stairs a few times when in a rush and reached for the banister that wasn't there!)
